About Us

"Roll in the Hole" Golf Instruction offers personal "One to One" training, as well as group clinics specializing in:

  • Ladies (Personal Credential: With 4 older sisters and a Mom who ran the family, I’ve become very experienced in effectively interacting with Ladies).
  • Juniors (Ages 7 to 17) and
  • Active Adults (Ages 50 and beyond):

Groups will be determined by the following classifications:

  • Beginner Golfer Groups
  • Intermediate Golfer Groups (15 to 25 handicap)
  • Advanced Golfer Groups (15 and below handicap)

A group will have a maximum of 6 students unless a group's needs dictate otherwise. If you wish to be notified about an upcoming group clinic that fits your needs, click here.

Although, we believe that "One to One" personalized attention is the most effective way golf instruction is taught and learned, group clinics have proven to be effective as well, both in:

  • Student retention of instruction, and
  • The reduced investment to the Student due to the group rate.

Special Interest and / or Professional group inquiries welcome.

Alan is a Certified Golf Teaching Professional through the United States Golf Teachers Federation (USGTF) and has satisfied the playing ability test requirements of the PGA PAT exam, making him eligible to get in to the PGA Apprenticeship Program.

A Certified Member is one who has successfully completed the certification course and has met all USGTF criteria in the:

  • Playing
  • Written and
  • Teaching aspects of the organization.

The USGTF "Full Certification Professional Golf Teachers Training" is recognized as the international golf teaching professional status. Alan is currently pursuing his PGA Certification eligibility requirements.

In 2005, Alan became a Board Certified Mental Training Professional in the sport of Golf, by completing the "Certified Coach in Sport Psychology" Certification Program from the American Board of Sport Psychology.

Did you know that during a round of Golf, which is on average, 4 and 1/2 hours long, 20 to 30 minutes is actually spent swinging the club, and the other 4 hours is spent "thinking?" What you choose to think and the techniques you use, can have a positive (or negative) effect on the outcome of your final Golf score. "The mind is indeed, a terrible thing to waste."

Alan is proud to be affiliated with The First Tee Program of Greater Atlantic City as one of their Golf Instructors. The First Tee impacts the lives of young people by providing learning facilities and educational programs that promote charater-development and life-enhancing values through the game of Golf. Prior to Alan's interest in the Golf Teaching Profession, he has held the following positions in industry where his training, coaching and customer service skills have been continuously honed. Since 1992, Alan has owned and operated a successful Personnel Consulting business, and has coached thousands of individuals (from entry-level professionals to CEO's) with their careers.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York for 26 years of his life, Alan decided to move to New Jersey in 1986, (where there are more Golf Courses) and now resides in Galloway Township, New Jersey, where he is a member of Blue Heron Pines Golf Club. Alan was selected by the New Jersey State Golf Association (www.njsga.org) as the "most improved golfer" at Knob Hill Golf Club for 2003.

Above, in the top picture, Alan demonstrates a putting drill, so that his students can see how to perform it effectively.
